Affordable Small Engine & Repair was established by Stephen Hawley in June 2006. During the initial years, Steve juggled two jobs, driving a truck and working at his business during his free time. He found early success repairing equipment for friends and neighbors, which led him to transition the business into a full-time endeavor that he was passionate about.
In August 2014, he left his truck driving job to dedicate himself entirely to Affordable Small Engine. The business has since flourished expanding its offerings to include various lawn and garden equipment brands that are reliable and serviceable. In fall 2014, we became an Exmark dealership in Fayetteville. The following year, we introduced handheld products like Maruyama, Efco, and Mantis.
In 2017, we added “Columbia” branded MTD walk-behind mowers and Troy Bilt garden products.
By spring 2018, Masport mowers were included, and in the summer, World Lawn & Encore zero-turn mowers joined our lineup. With over 30 years of experience in the small engine industry, Steve holds Master certification for Briggs & Stratton Engines, Expert certification for Kohler Engines, and certifications for Exmark, World Lawn/Encore ZTR Equipment, Kawasaki, Efco, and Maruyama Handheld products.
